As of July 1, 2019, The Stoop Kitchen a/k/a “The Stoop” will be closed for dinner, bar and brunch.
The Stoop Bakery Café will reopen under the new name The Scratch Bakehouse, reflecting an existing business that is now re-starting from scratch, and more importantly, that all of our incredible breads and pastries are “made from scratch.” Retail sales at 311 West Fayette Street, and 446 East Brighton Ave, just a minute away from Route 81 Exit 17.
The Owner of the Stoop stated “I have so enjoyed this second sojourn into raising the bar for food and bar in my hometown, which I love. For those who may not know, the last 6 months have been challenging because of changing markets, a number of hospitalizations and surgeries that have taken their toll on me (though I’m happy to report now nothing permanent), and some resultant kitchen issues that never have been completely resolved to my satisfaction. It is my belief that it is better to close rather than to go on as less.”
The Scratch Bakehouse will allow a better focus on providing the Central New York market with spectacular and healthy ancient recipe artisan breads. The Scratch Bakehouse will serve pastries such as croissant, Danish, cinnamon rolls, fruit crumbles, quiche and cookies, and breads such as baguette, country loaf, multi-seed, Sunswick Porridge, Olive Polenta, Cinnamon Raisin, Challah (on Fridays), and Marbles Rye, and takeaway lunches of baguette sandwiches, soups and salads, all reasonably priced and “made from scratch.” Look for our website coming to thescratchbakehouse.com
